Chilled Water Air Conditioners

If you are looking for an air conditioners for a large building you may well find that the traditional gas air conditioner runs into problems. When the gas has to travel long distances between valves and condensers the gas does not heat and cool properly. Therefore it is better to go for a chilled water air conditioner.

The main benefit of using a chilled water air conditioner is the fact that the entire air conditioning unit is situated in one block, usually placed at the back or on top of the building. The chilled water air conditioner works by pumping water and cooling it down to a very low temperature, as low as 4°C. Once cooled the chilled water is pumped throughout the system. With a good chilled water air conditioning system there is no real limit to the size of the system, whereas an air conditioner using Freon gas is much more limited.

Where Are Chilled Water Conditioners Used?

Because the chilled water air conditioners are much more capable of cooling large volumes of air they are typically found in larger buildings and storage areas. Chilled water air conditioners are found in:

  • Office blocks.
  • Tower blocks.
  • Warehouses.
  • Apartment blocks.
