Window air conditioners are usually found and used in apartment blocks where temperatures can soar during the hot summer months, but space is at a premium. To get around this conumdrum you can buy a window air conditioner, which is installed outside your window. Installing on the outside gives the conditioner a supply of fresh cooler air, that can then be passed through the internal conditioning system in the unit and pushed into the inetrior of the building. Window air conditioners are extremely useful if you live in a cramped area or in an apartment block without access to the roof. These kinds of AC units are available in a wide range of BTU/hour sizes, with enough variation to cool even the largest of rooms. Installing A Window Air ConditionerIf you do live in an apartment block and want to buy a new window air conditioner, then we strongy advise that unless you have performed an installation before and are capable / confident to do so again, hire a specialist to do the work for you. Installing a window air conditioner may mean climbing high up a ladder and manipulating a heavy object into position, which is highly dangerous.
